SHAES staff will also be visiting schools as part of Fire Prevention Week. Click here

Recognized for Service to Community

South Haven Area Emergency Services was among the first responders presented Leadership Awards for service to the community by Bobby Walker Ministries on August 10. Receiving the award on behalf of SHAES were Chief Ron Wise, Part-paid Association President Ron Washegesic and Deputy Chief Tony Marsala.

New Online Posting Gives Beach Conditions

SHPD and South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) are pleased to announce a new online beach warning service. SHPD and SHAES staff work to provide warnings about Lake Michigan wave conditions and the potential for danger at the city’s beaches. SHAES updates the beach warning flags on a daily basis, during the summer season. As part of this effort, SHPD and SHAES staff worked to launch an online tool which displays the current status of the beach warning flags. That online posting can be found at the following link: Click here

Dangerous Burn Season Underway

This is a dangerous time of the year because open burning can quickly become out-of-control field fires that endanger nearby property. This is reminder that open burning is not allowed in the City of South Haven and a burn permit is required in all the townships (Casco, Geneva and South Haven) that we serve.
